Internet Service Options in My Area
|
There are about two billion internet users in the world. The internet is spreading fast, the number of internet users are increasing by the minute. India is also following the worldwide trend. India is now ranked third among the world’s largest internet using countries, behind China and US. India has about one billion internet users. Internet service options in my area are increasing by the day and companies are now providing better and cheaper internet services.
Internet service options in my area weren’t the same about five years ago. There was only one internet service provider in the beginning and it was owned by the government. The first internet service in India was started by the government owned VSNL, in 1995. The company tripled the number of users in three years and from there on, there was no looking back. In 1998, the government lifted the monopoly, which helped private companies to make their entry. Right now, there are about 163 internet service providers in India. The increasing number of internet service providers has certainly increased competition and as a result of this, people are now able to enjoy better and cheaper internet services.
The number of internet service options in my area has doubled with the introduction of broadband, Wi-Fi, Wi-Max and 3G. Broadband was first introduced in 2005 and India now has about 13 million broadband users. With the introduction of 3G, people are now able to access high speed internet on the go. BSNL is the top internet service provider in India with a market share of about 58 percent.
Nowadays, internet service options in my area are very cheap and a variety of services are available, including dial ups, broadband, Wi-Fi, Wi-Max and 3G. The data speeds have now rocketed from where it was about 3 years ago, with speeds up to 50Mbps. There are a variety of data plans coming up and BSNL is leading the pack. Most of the private companies are now providing much cheaper data plans to attract customers. Internet service is now available in every nooks and corners of India. With 3G and broadband available in every village, the number of internet users is expected to double within a few years.
